Advice On Hosting A Brunch
posted on 02/03/2009
Only family and very close friends should be invited to a brunch. It is very informal and there should be a relaxed feeling over the entire event.
Time. Any time between ten o'clock and noon is ideal for brunch. Have everything in place and ready before your guests arrive. To rush around in their presence is in bad taste.
How and what to serve. Fruit, breakfast foods, baked goods, and light luncheon items are all displayed nicely at a well prepared brunch. The table should be well stocked with plates, mugs, glasses, saucers, flatware, and napkins.
Don't forget the extras. Purchase a large good quality Lazy Susan. Place it in the center of the table and have it hold all the condiments guests will require. Offer several versions of coffee, tea, juice, and soft drinks.
