Advice On Environment Protection - How Can We Help?
posted on 04/15/2009
Environment protection is an issue that plagues developed and developing countries. The world is encountering massive loads of non-disposable solid wastes every year. The air we breathe, water we drink and the land we live in endure escalating pollution which will affect its future utility. Water, land and air are our fundamental requirements and you can comprehend the implications if they become unusable.
Environment awareness covers aspects like
*Air and water pollution with toxic wastes,
*Preservation of existing resources like oil, minerals, water, land and electricity
*Salvaging and reprocessing waste products like plastic, paper, polythene, metal cans
*Keeping the neighborhood spotlessly clean
*Global warming and depletion of ozone layer
*Air and water pollution in rivers, lakes, oceans, etc.
*Endangered plant and animal life and
*Regulation of population overgrowth
An impact of exhausting the earth's supplies is the depletion of oil resources and minerals. Man has ruined quite a lot of jungles for his convenience. This has disturbed the annual rainfall in almost all the countries and the natural food supply of animals, leading to their extinction. Unless he stops wasting precious, natural resources and plans for the future, the future generation will not witness many endangered species of animals, plants and marine life.
You might question, how can I lend a hand to assist the earth keep the resources for the next generation inhabitants? Do not WASTE the available resources. We must conserve each drop of fuel (petrol, diesel, kerosene and oil) as well as recycle plastic, glass plus paper scraps. Automobiles are one of the worst pollutants that release toxic gas into the air.
Contributing to conservation of energy saves the environment from pollution. Cutting trees and dumping toxic waste into water sources pollutes the area and releases greenhouse gases. Generally people contaminate government assets such as land and water. Drainage and waste water pollute the river and the disposal of waste materials in any haphazard area contaminates land.
Efforts are made by the government and environmental agencies to protect the environment through stringent regulations and penalty. There are plenty of advertisements broadcast through the media to publicize such efforts. The government authorities grant financial assistance for recycling waste products and stringent energy conservation measures.
Production of alternative fuel from electricity, gas and solar energy reduces the amount of air pollution. The government subsidizes such fuel and therefore there is wide participation among the masses. Recycle as many items as possible. For local transportation, exploit public vehicle services like buses, trams or trains, bicycles or the conventional walking, to save fuel.
