Advice On How To Help Increase Your Earning Potential
posted on 07/01/2009
I know, and pretty much everyone knows, that financial status is very important especially in today's society. I am going to share some advice on how to increase your earning abilities without putting a strain on yourself or your family by having multiple jobs.
The first thing to think about when looking into gaining more financial stability is maintaining an hourly or salaried position. This is very important to do until you feel comfortable with your business or your earning potential if that is your goal to ensure that you have benefits of some kind as well as a solid earning base in case you need to try a few things until you find something that will earn you a little extra money every month. This information is meant to help you to increase your earning potential, not to help you own your own business. If a business does come out of it, great! But please keep in mind though that owning your own business is not the main focus of this advice.
Find something you're good at and that you like to do. Do you like to crochet or knit? Do you like to paint or work on cars? How about wood working or crafts or even gardening? Whatever it is that you find pleasing or calming, work from it. There is money to be made everywhere you look, you just need to be motivated enough to make some of it. We all know that money doesn't fall from trees, it needs to be earned so you are going to have to put in some work. I understand that the earning potential for an at home hobby is not enough to live off of and that is why this information is simply to help you to increase your earning potential, not to replace it. Once you find something that you are good at, look to see if there is a market for it. Now, there probably isn't much money in knitting socks or pot holders but look into what does make money. Check selling websites where you are able to sell your own goods to see what other people are making from the same types of products or services that you have to offer.
When choosing a financial gaining hobby, keep in mind the time that it would take you to produce something or to complete a task as well as the cost for materials and compare that to what you would make if you sold the item or completed the service for someone else. You should not lose money or break even, that would be a waste of time. If you can create a product for $2.00 and sell it for $5.00, you have more than doubled your money. You will most likely not be paid for your time but that is all a part of working for yourself. If you are able to make one $5.00 item every day and successfully sell them, that would be an additional $150.00 every month which would equal a total of an extra $1800.00 each year. You and I both know that you have enough time in a day to create at least one thing each day depending on what you choose or to set aside at least one hour of time to devote to this project even in a worse case scenario. Skipping out on some television time never killed anyone. Double it if you can. If you can make one, you can surely make two. Now who couldn't use an extra $3600.00 every year? I know I could.
If you don't have a lot of extra time, find something that doesn't take a lot of time and work from what you already have. If you can't find that something that will earn you something a little extra every month then look into small ways to save money. If eating lunch out for work each day is costing you $5.00, pack your own lunch. The same rules apply to saving as they do to earning. If you could save yourself $5.00 each day, it adds up! The real trick is to teach yourself how to earn $5.00 AND save $5.00 each day.
If you are able to use this advise on a larger scale of course your earning and saving potential would be much more than what I have shown. I have taken a worse case scenario just to show that it is possible to make and save money even in today's world. Now, take what you have learned and get moving!
