Advice On Poetry

Poetry is language rendered musically. Its long history is rooted in the prehistoric oral tradition of the first humans, evolves past the advent of writing, and continues to evolve into the present. It takes on many forms, from simple rhyming couplets to complex free verse. A much misunderstood art form, poetry nevertheless continues to inspire millions of readers and listeners in every culture. How to write poetry isn't as hard as reading a book.
1.Think of things that have been on your mind. Maybe its love, nature, religious matters etc. The beautiful thing about poetry, is that you can write about what ever you want. You can go anywhere in the world. YOU CAN EVEN CREATE YOUR OWN!!!!!!!!
2.Try not to place in words in a way that it is easy to understand. Try to make it so that people have to actually think about what you've written so that this way they will be interested in reading more.
3.Make sure that the details are clear. Also it will be easier also if the events are in chronological order. If you don't the reader will get easly confused.
Freeverse is the easyest type of poem that you can posibly do. It can be how ever long you want it to waht ever you want the topic about. EASY!
Sonnets are a little harder but they have two types: shakespeare and latin. Shakespeare is the easyest so I would go with that. It consists of 14 lines. At the beging of the poem you ask a qustion and then at the end you answer it.
Haiku poems are the easyest in my opinion. 5 symboles on the frist line,7 on the next and 5 on the last line. Super easy as apple pie.
Odes praise things. they can be long or short but they HAVE to rhyme at the end of each line!
Limericks are funny and thats the point. at the end of the lines you have to rhyme and one more thing, MAKE IT FUNNY!
Cinquains are five-line poems in three basic patterns. In other words 3 paragraphs.
Ballads tell a story.
Couplet Poems are two lines that rhyme at the end.
