Advice On How Women Will Benefit From New Health Plan Incentives
posted on 07/26/2009
It's bad enough to think that many women can't even afford health care insurance, but if you look closely at Obama's health care reform plan, just how much of a benefit will it be to some women?
The new plan will offer women lower costs, making health insurance more affordable. And, if a woman has a pre-existing condition there will be more options for coverage. It will also be easier for women to obtain insurance if going through a divorce, changing employment or finishing their education.
On the not so bright side, women who own companies with payrolls $250,000 or more may have to pay health insurance for their employees or face penalties. Although small businesses are said to be exempt. The Senate has declared that a small business is any company with 1-25 employees.
With new health care reform, close attention will be paid to tests and procedures and many women may not be covered for certain tests ordered by their physicians. Whether or not abortions will be covered is still questionable.
The best advice women can take is to take care of their bodies to stay as healthy as possible for as long as possible. Look at President Obama's plan closely and decide whether for you, the benefits outweigh the negatives.
