Advice On Dollar Stores

I'm not proud. I shop the dollar stores on a regular basis. You can get some incredible deals at Dollar Tree, Dollar General, the Dollar Store and all the other bargain and close-out stores that populate the shopping landscape. They've become more popular and more crowded as the economy continues to decline and now, even the folks from the fancier neighborhoods are wandering out to do some shopping at the dollar stores.
Don't automatically turn your nose up at dollar stores. The quality of many of the products is not significantly different from those you get at a regular supermarket or discount store. Here are some of the good deals you can get at dollar stores.
Cleaning Supplies - you can get cleaning products for about 60-70 percent less at the dollar store than if you had purchased them at a supermarket or cleaning store. Some of the products are name brands; some of them may be generic. In a few cases, the products may not be full strength (they may be diluted) but for general cleaning, you won't notice the difference. I regularly stock my cleaning closet with supplies from the dollar store.
Snacks and Candy - stop at the dollar store before you go to the movie theater and save yourself a bunch of money. They sell candy, chips, popcorn, licorice and a variety of other munchies that can cost three or four times as much than the theater's concession stand. This is also a great place to stock up on candy for Halloween, Christmas and Valentine's Day.
Paper goods and party supplies - If you're having a party, be sure to pick up all of your paper goods at the dollar store. They have incredible bargains on themed paper plates, napkins and cups, as well as party favors. A package of paper plates that sell for $1.00 at the dollar store can cost $3.99 elsewhere, even at Walmart or Target. And since you just throw the plates out anyway after they're use, why spend more money than you have to?
Bath and beauty products, school supplies, kitchen gadgets, gift wrap, plastic containers and even food items are great bargains at dollar stores. There's no reason to feel ashamed for doing your shopping there. Remember, you're the smart one for recognizing a good deal when you see it. Keep your head held high as you save money and laugh all the way to the bank!

There's no shame in saving money! I like the Dollar Tree best of the Dollar stores, but I have a very favorite 99 Cent store that is run by an Indian family. They always have really nice, interesting things there. I get gourmet dog treats, 100% lemon juice, spices, a really nice, & fairly natural shampoo on a regular basis. They usually have some special deals on things they have gotten from overstock or salvage, too. I have been shopping there for over 10 years!
