Advice On Losing Weight/getting Healthy.

Why should I write about this? If you looked at me, you'd probably think I've no business doing it. Although I could be healthier, I'm relatively healthy, but I'm not skinny. No, not skinny, thin, slender... none of those adjectives apply to me. Obese doesn't apply to me either. If the true national average size is 14 (yes, 14!) then I'm a little over the national average, but I carry it well.
So why am I writing this? Because I'm ready! I'm ready to get healthy, I'm ready to let one of those aforementioned adjectives apply to me.
The key, I've found, is to be mentally ready, and mentally positive. It's all about the mind, isn't it? What's the phrase? "If you set your mind to it..." It's true! You've got to believe that you're worth it, the effort you put into yourself will be worth it. As my father says, "you've got to take care of number one first." If you don't, who will? And I am worth it, I believe that. We are all worth it, the care and concern we pile on our friends, our loved ones, even our pets, all that is worth piling on to our own well-being.
If your'e having trouble giving yourself that care, take a moment and reflect on why you're not. Chances are, the reasons that are preventing you are fear-based, and, even more likely, old. I found, for myself, that it was time to toss out all those old reasons and replace them with reasons to care. Start with a little one. My favorite: "I've always been heavy." So? I was always a brunette until last year! Things can change, and for the better. Take that first step, look at yourself in the mirror, and smile. You're worth it!
