Every parent dreams of their kids becoming doctors, lawyers, engineers, government officials, army men etc and hence they make sure their kids study hard and get high grades. If you ask little children what they would like to be when they were adults, most would say actors, singers, teachers etc. Little kids do not think about the income. What they do think about, is having a fun job, doing things they love. Now at what point during the growth of a person does that concept change? Why do parents hesitate to let their kids build careers that may not pay much but are still fun and interesting?
Hobbies like music, fine arts, dance etc look extremely interesting and easy but the fact is, building a good career in those fields are way harder than anything else. For all other high-pay jobs you need good grades, ace communication skills and in recent times, influence, but if you want to break through the limitations of building a career using your talents and skills, you need to be ready and determined to walk, or rather, run the extra mile. The first thing you need to keep in mind, is that numerous people in the world are talented and almost all of them want to have careers in interesting fields like music, dance, art etc. Everybody gives it a shot to reach the point where life gives a hard kick to remind them that its no piece of cake. At this point, 90% of them give up while only the remaining 10% try harder. Make sure no matter what people say or do, listen to your heart and be one among the striving 10%.
Secondly, do not spend all your time building castles in thin air. You need to spend some time analyzing your self, your abilities and most importantly, you need to rate yourself. If you feel confident that your talent can take you up the stairs of success and satisfaction then don't look back.
Always be open to criticism. Nobody will want to work with you if you have your own ideas and are not willing to explore and respect other people's opinions. You need to remember that you need experienced people to help your through because without those strong pillars, your dreams may collapse in just a few seconds.
Finally, make sure you work hard and try to be more creative and unique. Keep you ideas updated at all times so that people know that you are working hard to be the cream of the industry.
