Advice On Having A Hobby Can Do Wonders
posted on 08/06/2009
Hobbies are a great way to relieve stress. It is good for everyone to have a hobby. It can be anything from drawing, reading, sewing, knitting, writing, watching television, dancing, and singing, photography, collecting stamps, collecting coins or even listening to music. Whatever it may be it will never go to waste. What you have learnt you will never be forgotten and one can impart the knowledge to others. This will give you satisfaction that is not explainable.
For example, those interested in art can collect their pieces over time and then have an exhibition. Those interested in music and drama, can get a few people together and plan a musical play. One can train both young and old, there is no age bar when in comes to learning something new.
Children today are stressed too much in school. Parents try to push their kids to do everything possible and never stop to ask their child whether the activities are too much or if they are really interested. We as parents should be able to know when to stop.
Another very interesting thing about art and craft is the ability to present what one made to others as gifts. You can visit an old age home, an orphanage or the sick and lonely and entertain them for a while. After all who does not like a hand made gift. It teaches us also how we can use and reuse. Make something useful from unwanted waste!!! Now that's an idea we can all work on in this time of global warming.
For those who are not good in academics they can look back on their talents and use it to start a career. One never can say where it may lead you. In the beginning it may be tough but take it with a pinch of salt and work hard.
