Advice On Removing Dark Undereye Circles
posted on 09/19/2009
Dark circles and under-eye puffiness are very common problems. The most frequent cause is tiredness. However, you can also be genetically predisposed to develop them, no matter how much rest you get. If you fall into this category, they can be difficult to remove. Skin discoloration under the eye can also be caused due to allergies, in such cases you will need to identify and treat the specific allergen (cause of the allergy). The natural remedy for removing dark circles is to get plenty of sleep. You might have seen it yourself that when you have inadequate sleep, you usually develop dark circles under the eye. Inadequate sleep causes the skin to become paler, and also reduces blood circulation under the eyes. How much sleeping time is sufficient for a person differs from one individual to the other, but usually seven or nine hours of sleep is sufficient.
Toxic elements like alcohol and drugs have a very adverse effect on the quality of sleep, so try to avoid taking them. You can not sleep well under stress, so try to relax your mind and let go of things that bother you before going to sleep. It's a good idea to clean your face with a washcloth and applying cold water on eyes before going to bed. It is seen that tannin in tea bags also helps in reducing swelling and discoloration, and although it's not proven but keeping cucumber slices on the eyes for 15 to 20 minutes also helps. Using an eye cream rich in Vitamin K and 'retinol' helps in reducing the puffiness and discoloration under the eyes.
All the vitamins and other ingredients needed to avoid and remove dark circles are present in fruits and vegetables. So a healthy and balanced diet is the best way to avoid all these problems. Also, drink a lot of water. It helps in improving the circulation under the eye.
