posted on 10/09/2009
People need a good pair of shoes. Without shoes it would be incredibly difficult for us to get around. As a matter of fact a person actually needs a good pair of shoes more than they need an automobile. Here is some advice about keeping your shoes in great shape.
Have more than one pair of shoes
The reason why people need more than one pair of shoes has nothing to do with status but it has to do with keeping your shoes in good shape. Having at least 2 pair of shoes to rotate between on a daily basis is good for your feet and it will help your shoes to last longer. You won't have to go out and buy shoes as often. Just don't go overboard with this unless you can afford to have more shoes than what you really need.
Clean and repair your shoes
Make sure that you clean your shoes and repair any minor damage on them. Wipe your shoes off with the right kind of rag to clean off the dirt. Apply polishes and cleaners when needed. Make sure you touch up areas on your shoes that need to be cleaned up. Most shoes appearance can be improved simply by wiping the excess dirt and marks off of them.
Shoe repair shops
There are shoe repair shops located in most cities and if you have one in your town you can take your shoes there and have them do the cleaning work for them. They can repair shoes and improve the quality of them.
Make sure your shoes fit properly
Proper fitting shoes go a long way in making sure your shoes aren't being worn out fast. Make sure your shoes aren't too tight and make sure they're not too big. It's okay for children to have their shoes at least a size larger than what they normally wear simply because their feet are still growing. Adults can vary their shoe size by at least a half too simply because the way some shoes are made the extra room may be necessary.
Keeping your shoes in great shape will not only save you money on shoes but it will also keep your feet in good shape for many years to come.
