everybody tells you how great it is. NOBODY tells you how hard it is. So, I'm here to say it's as hard as it is great.

Amen to that. Couldn't have put it better myself. There's a taboo on talking about how life altering (in a bad way, at least for the first few years) and difficult, both physically and psychologically, having kids is. I view it the same way as saving for retirement--it's something that lowers your quality of life now in order to raise it later.
