CAN MONEY BUY LOVE?

ROGER WRITES:
I have just spent the last two years with a girl. She was a virgin when I met her. I treated her really well and I spent lots of money on her trying to keep her happy but she just dumped me without any warning. I thought the sex was good and I don't understand what happened!

Recently she has been posting stuff on the Internet claiming that I raped her. She hasn't mentioned me by name but I'm sure she is talking about me. Do you have any advice?

It seems that you used something other then your good looks and charm to try and win this girls' love. When you use money to get a person's attention you need to understand the game you are playing and yes it is a game! Money does not buy love but it can get you some affection. As long as you understand that you are being manipulative and don't pretend that you are developing a real relationship you will be ok. The moment you believe your situation is love you are going to get your feelings hurt.

Obviously, this girl got tired of playing this game with you and decided to look for real love. Don't be upset, maybe she felt she was taking advantage of you and didn't want to do it anymore. As far as the rape allegations, it would appear she is having trouble with the fact that she sold herself to you these last two years and is trying to come to terms with all of that behavior. I doubt highly if this "friends with benefits" situation lasted two years that her claims of rape are reliable. However, I don't know all of the details, like her age or ability to consent to sex with you. I hope you can take this in stride and move on.
If you are going to do this sort if thing again remember to keep it simple and don't catch feelings.
