Requested: Advice On 1988 Honda Accord

I am having car trouble. I have a 1988 honda accord 4 cyl. I ran off into a ditch and i was trying to get out in first gear and i couldnt.finalley when i did get out the front of the motor ia making real loud knocking noise. I havent did anything to it yet cause im not sure.Some one tlod me it sounds like a rod in tne motor .Can any body help me with my question. please

I have a 1988 honda accord 4 cyl.I ran off into a ditch and i was haveing a hard time trying to get out in first gear.Finally when i did get out its makeing a loud noise in the front of the motor.I havent did anything to the car cause im not sure what it could be.Someone told me it could be a rod in the motor.IF anyone could help me with some advice.I would be very thankful.
