Requested: Advice On Handling A Houseguest
posted on 10/26/2009
My sig other invited a coworker from the other side of the country to stay with us for a week or so while finding a place for his family to live locally. The arrival date is nearing and now he has informed us that he will be staying for three weeks. We do not have an extra bedroom, so the gentleman will be sleeping on the pull-out sofa in the living room, which he said is not a problem for him. I would like advice on how to graciously handle the situation so that our guest is comfortable but also that my children don't feel put out and I don't end up resentful of the resident in my living room. I have no idea if he will be joining us for meals, however he will be sharing the main (not master) bathroom. Any tips would be appreciated, as I have never had a guest that I have never met for such an extended period of time.
