Requested: Advice On Moving From Texas To North Dakota

I know everyone is like WHY NORTH DAKOTA OMG but thats beside the point really, my family wanted to move to ND and thats just the way things are. What I need to know is, what do I need to expect? What should I get to prepare for what I hear will be a shockingly different winter?
