Requested: Advice On How To Convince My Mom To Let Me Dye My Hair?
posted on 11/04/2009
For years on end, I have tried to persuade my mom multiple times to let me dye my hair. However, during most of the times I have asked her to say yes, she had always resisted, and tried to convince me that it would ruin my hair, and that I would eventually go bald. I found her response to be a little delusional, and not understandable. So, this has been going on for years, and since I'm seventeen, I feel like I am capable of making my own decisions. I thought of buying a box of the permanent color of my choice, for example, at my local drug store or grocery store, but my mom thinks that it's all garbage, and will make my hair worse. I just don't get it. I'm not really happy with my hair color. I feel like it doesn't necessarily fit me, but then again, I have had the same hair color my whole life. I feel like I want some change, and in order for me to feel better about myself, I think that dying my hair will do that. I prefer to dye my hair possibly a strawberry blonde, which is a mix of blonde and red. And yes, I have mentioned to my mom about getting it professionally done, and she has agreed, but never gets around to it. I'm so fed up with my mom's excuses, and eventually, she has to let me do what I want to do, because I am, after all, seventeen years old.
But, how do I convince my mom? When will she understand?
