Requested: Advice On Meeting People

I am 20 years old and attend school in Tampa, FL but spend the holidays and summers at my home in Philadelphia. Last summer, I came home to find I have no friends left. I tried numerous things to meet new people but nothing really worked. Because I'm not quite 21 yet, my options for socializing are quite limited. Besides, I never found the whole bar / night club thing to be for me anyways. I really enjoy music and am, in fact, a musician, but there are not a lot of local music events left where I live and I'm often the youngest one at the open mics I play at. I tried taking classes and spending a lot of time in public places like malls and coffee houses but they weren't exactly infested with people my own age. I even tried the online thing, but that was a bust as well. So, any other advice or good ways for meeting new people at age 20?
