How to sell a house that is not up to code

I moved into a new place in the last July. I had a leasing contract but when I inspect the place, I found lots of problems. So, I asked of fixing the problems or of changing my unit D to other unit. Advice on My boyfriend got himself in a pickle.. He found a forclosed home.. closing is set for 2 weeks from now.. How he qualified for this I have no idea.. I am a student at a university. My father purchased a home in the area two years ago and put me on the deed. I am now looking to purchase a home on my own. Would I qualify for the first time home buyer tax credit?

we are currentley have a 1 year lease,as of now we are about 6-7 months into it and out landlord just gave us a written 30 day notice of rental increase. My ? is this,is this considered "breaking" our lease or is our lease still active.We want to move but dont want to break our lease but also our "old" lease says a diffrent rent price then what we are currentley paying
